bilbao syndrome began life as a partnership between renowned musicians: keyboardist matthew bourne and drummer chris bussey in january 2007. it was clear early on that the intensity and scale of their vision would require the recruitment of additional members: chris sharkey – guitar, colin sutton, bass and the incredible voice of andrew plummer. the sheer appearance, performance and energy of this band onstage is unlike any other on the tech-metal scene today. musically, their approach lies somewhere between the heaviness and speed of bands such as meshuggah and dillinger escape plan, and the powerful imagery that is reminiscent of scott walker’s latest works. all there is left to do is wait…and listen.
